But year-on-year, the figure was up only 2.4 percent, when compared with SGS's estimate of 1,024,771 tonnes for October 1 to 25, 2004. SGS said its latest estimate comprised 950,328 tonnes of palm oils and 98,818 tonnes of oleochemicals and Laurie oils.
In the palm oil category, 86,578 tonnes were made up of RBD palm oil, 389,042 tonnes of RBD palm olein, 141,700 tonnes of RBD palm stern and 186,688 tonnes of crude palm oil.
China was the biggest buyer of Malaysian oil palm products for the period, taking 223,839 tonnes, followed by Pakistan with 85,500 tonnes, and the United States with 66,526 tonnes.
European Union countries, another major destination, accounted for 266,361 tonnes of the export total.
